NTPC Limited is the largest Power generating major in India and one of the Maharatna companies of Government of India. NTPC generates power from Coal, Gas & Solar at high efficiency level. Presently, its installed capacity is 43,128 MW. NTPC has target to have an installed power generating capacity of 1,28,000 MW by 2032.
It has also diversified into hydro power, coal mining, power equipment manufacturing, oil & gas exploration, power trading & distribution. With an increasing presence in the power value chain, NTPC is well on its way to become an Integrated Power Major.
Haryana Power Generation Company Ltd (HPGCL)
HPGCL is a Government of Haryana owned power generating company. The total installed generation capacity available with the State of Haryana is 9839.43 MW. Out of this 5300.50 MW is located within the State. The balance is from Haryana's share in Central Sector Generating Stations and from long-term power contracts.
Indraprastha Power Generating Company Ltd (IPGCL)
IPGCL is a Government of Delhi owned Power Generating Company. The total installed capacity of IPGCL/PPCL as on 31-3-2013 is 1420.2 MW. The balance requirement of power is being met from Delhi share in Central Sector Generating Stations. A 1500 MW (N) Gas based Power Station is being set up at Bawana, Delhi of which 1st module of 750 MW (N) has already been commissioned and 2nd module is in advance stage of commissioning.
